The 2008 WSOP Main Event is all set, but players will have to wait until November to continue their play.
The Main Event started playing on July 2nd and took almost two weeks for the final 9 to be determined. After having to wait four months to play the final table, the twelve days it took to get there will seem like a walk in the park.
With 6,844 entering this year’s Main Event, the prizepool is a staggering $64.3 million! First place will be worth a little over $9.1 million and the remaining 8 players in the tournament being guaranteed at least a million dollars in prize money.
The nine players will play down to two on November 9th. The final two competitors will then go heads-up starting at 10 p.m. PDT on November 10th. With a first for the WSOP, ESPN will carry same day coverage of the event beginning November 11th at 9:00pm EST.
